Dry cough with mucus at night

2022-06-01 05:46:42
I am fine throughout the day but cough continuously at night since about 3 weeks now. I also get some mucus strands (similar to nose mucus during cold). I have completed atleast 2 full bottles of cough syrups but no use. I suffered from severe cold about a month and a half back and took medicines. It cured my cold but stuffed all the mucus in throat and chest. Please help.

Hi. Your symptoms are suggestive of either allergic or post-viral cough. Different cough syrups have different contents and no cough syrup can be used for all types of cough, hence it is best that they are used only after a prescription from a doctor. Since your symptoms have persisted for nearly a month, it is best that you visit an ENT specialist near you for detailed evaluation and correct medications.
