Drug Side effect

I was getting my wisdom tooth extracted for which I was given an IV dexamethasone before the surgery. Immediately after the administration of the drug I experienced a sharp burning/itching sensation which lasted only for around 10 secs. Is it normal?

If surgical tooth removal and bone cutting was done then dexamethasone indicated for this conditions. Because dexona is potent antiinflammatory  drug. But if fast injected may causes itching it is normal. But please monitor if it continues then anti allergic drugs should be taken like Avil/Allegra and immediately consult any physician or hospital.
