Driving car after Ureteral Stent

2023-02-14 12:41:30
I have had Ureteroscopy for kidney stones and a stent is placed two days back. I want to drive my car long distances (300 kilometres in one stretch) in the next few days starting tomorrow. Is it advisable with stent in place? Will I damage anything? Also, can I get my stent removed anywhere? Or should I have to get it removed from the same doctor who placed it? Please advice.

You can travel with dj stent in place but it should be smooth and you should avoid a jerky journey otherwise you may have blood in urine. It is advisable to get the stent removed by the person who has placed it as he knows the entire course of your treatment and the indication why it was put. Removing a dj stent is no big deal for any urologist but wether it has to be removed needs deliberation.
