Downs Syndrome with ADHD

My son is Downs Syndrome, he is under no medication. Gets hyper active in public places after period of time. Since we are traveling and have a halt of 8 hrs at airport at night. Can we give him Alprozam .25 to make him sleep. Or any other medicine. Thank you.
