Unprotected sex puts you at risk of pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. If it is still within 72 hours of unprotected sex you can take emergency contraception. If your last period was within the past two weeks you can have a copper t fitted as emergency contraception and will work as ongoing contraception too. Please see your gynaecologist for further advice regarding testing for unwanted pregnancy and your exposure to sexually transmitted infections.
