Radiation produces local side effects and rectal irritation along with burning sensation while passing stools or itching of the peri-rectal skin, are the common side effects. Medications for Local application are very useful. Precaution- they should not be applied before RT. After the fraction is delivered, she can go home and apply accordingly. Some oral medications are also useful. With supportive care, treatment can be managed effectively. Keep a weekly follow up with the treating doctor and take consultation.
