Hi, I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat MS ENT.
Hello, thank you for your question. Your concern is valid and it’s good that you’re being cautious about your ear health.
The sensation of ear “vibrations” while listening to music is often due to low-frequency bass sounds.
• These can create a resonating effect in the external ear canal, which some people find relaxing or stimulating.
• This is generally harmless if the volume is moderate and there are no underlying ear conditions.
It Cause Dizziness or Inner Ear Damage?
Usually not, as long as the following precautions are maintained:
1. Volume Control:
• Listening at high volumes regularly can overstimulate the cochlea (hearing part) and vestibular system (balance part).
• Over time, this may increase the risk of noise-induced hearing loss or temporary imbalance.
2. Duration of Exposure:
• Prolonged listening, especially through earphones or in enclosed environments, may cause ear fatigue or even mild dizziness in sensitive individuals.
Health Tips
Keep volume below 60% of maximum.
• Avoid continuous exposure longer than 1 hour at a time without breaks.
• If you experience persistent dizziness, ringing (tinnitus), or ear fullness, consult nearest ENT doctor .
