Trying to avoid contrast CT urography due to lung condition – is low-dose CT + MRI a safer option? Follow up of my last post Medical history: Chronic lung issues (frequent HRCT scans), currently being evaluated for possible kidney/urinary tract problem Current symptoms: Burning during urination, dark brown urine, lower back pain Urine test: Shows protein My urologist recommended a CT urography with contrast, but I’m really concerned about two things: 1. Radiation exposure – because I already get HRCTs regularly for my lung condition 2. Iodine contrast – I’ve read it may affect kidney function, especially if there’s already an issue I asked about switching to an MRI, but the doctor said no. So I’m planning to ask whether we can do both of these instead: 1. A low-dose, non-contrast CT scan to reduce radiation and avoid iodine 2. An MRI with contrast to get detailed imaging without radiation Has anyone here done something similar? Would this combination cover what a cont
