Does boot or cast is best for fracture?

My dad is ckd patient nd diabetic..his tibia bone fractured..nondisplaced fracture..dey r going to place boot as dey r saying it is comfortable..but am confused sat boot is better or conservative cast..ppl let me know in detail sir..an boot vil help in healing??nd from went can walk poprl

Conservative (synthetic cast) is an economical and time tested alternative for managing patients with CKD. Depending on fracture pattern and cast, patient can walk on it from anywhere between 2-3 weeks bearing weight over affected limb. With a walker patient can walk immediately non weight bearing.
