Hello ,
To answer your question: Yes getting an MRI of cervical spine with whole spine screening is urgent and necessary
You are most probably having compressive cervical myelopathy most probably secondary to disc herniation (looking at your age) in the neck
And considering symptoms were localised first , now it has progressed meaning compression has increased
Can further progress to cause any sensory disturbance/numbness or/and motor weakness
Next Steps
Urgent MRI and Spine specialist opinion
Health Tips
Avoid lifting of heavy weight
Use of soft cervical collar
Avoid extreme neck movements/bending
Look out for any neurological weakness
