My grandmother is of 80 years and doc's are doubting about Osteochondroma & Chondrosarcoma for knee little swelling & pain. I have done mri 2 times- both having different results of Osteochondroma & Chondrosarcoma. Doc is saying there are 99% chance of Chondrosarcoma. Can Osteochondroma happen at this  age? What are the next suggestion.

Osteochondroma if present will be there since childhood A fresh swelling at his age has to be investigated with biopsy

Go for excisional biopsy, curettage and bone grafting/ cementing. Clinical and Local. Skin conditions give a idea about the malignant or benign nature. This looks benign radiologically to me.
