Didn't get my periods on expected date

Hie, I usually get my periods one day before the expected date, but didn't got this time. Earlier this month I had a catch up with my bf but there was no penitration. I took pregnancy test also, but it was negitive, but then I read online that it should be done after 5-6 days of misssing periods. Please let me know what can be done.
