Did not take tetanus after cut on knee

2019-08-26 13:40:19
I did not take tetanus after a cut by metal piece ( clean, painted and not that sharp) slightly above my knee cap. It's been 10 days since. A little blood came out but stopped after a minute or so. I did not take tetanus vaccine because I had a course of 5 vaccinations ( 3 shots and 2 boosters about 2 years ago). Am I still at a risk of getting infected? I recently had a surgery to fix my broken nose (mentioning just in case if it's helpful). Even if I do get tetanus then what should I do? Thanks

Thank you for asking. I recommend you to go get tested for tetanus and consult a regular physician for a better recommendation. Regardless of your last tetanus shot, you should always go for a booster shot whenever you face any injury concerning the contact with a metal - you may or may not know the bacteria encroaching upon the article.
