Diabetes or not

Hii i am 55 yrs old. I went for hb1ac test 2 months back and was given the impression of being diabetic with hb1ac% of 7.8. This happened post urine infection when i was put on a lot of antibiotics for over a period of 3 months. Now 5 days back i went to a physician to talk abt prev diabetes report i was told to get fasting and post prandial test. My fasting sugar was 75 and post prandial was 104. Why is there so much difference in both results. What to believe what to not. Should i take meds or not. Kindly suggest?

Fasting and PPBS are a point in time test - you can eat perfectly for a few days and bring this down Hba1c is a test of long term control and will reflect control over the last 3 months. More reliable test
