Hi,
Lets look at the situation from both perspectives,
The situation is as delicate for him as it is for you. Yes being lonely can be troublesome.. and now he seems to be doing the household chores and his work too. Men have their way of distracting themselves as do women. Tv, mobiles etc are some of them. They distance themselves from anything causing stress or if they feel they are likely to cause stress to others. They arent very vocal about issues.
If you are in bed rest, try getting a full time help.. gives you someone to talk to.. while it reduces the burden on him.. instead of constantly asking him to talk to you.. try initiating the conversation.. you have all the tools with you.. movies.. news.. tv.. tell him about interesting stuff you see or hear.. ask him about his day..
Watch for sleep disturbances and pervasive low mood in you and your husband.. see a Psychiatrist if it gets worse. As it is better to get it treated before it gets bigger.
