Hello! Thank you for reaching out.
We understand how distracting and troublesome it can be to focus on work right now. In the current scenario, with so much going on- there is now a lot of emotional and mental load on our minds, even as it might not affect us directly. Being inside all day and having more and more work piled up can feel very limiting.
Please know that even as things do not affect you directly, it's okay to feel low and not work for a while. While there might not be a reason you consider valid enough to feel this way, we assure you that in these times- there is a lot of stress around us which can make us feel unmotivated to do anything. Work can come into place when you feel mentally and physically well.
If you have trouble focusing on work, you could definitely ask for a few days of leave to properly rest and recover. It is completely valid and okay to take mental health breaks from work and routine life. Please engage in sleep, rest and eating properly- replenishing yourself with food and enjoying activities that you like.
Such activities could consist of âgroundingâ and âmindfulnessâ which essentially asks you to focus on your here and now, i.e grounding yourself in the present moment. Gratitude journaling, writing down things you are grateful for, looking for 5 things you can identify with your senses among other things are something that you can use.
Please also ensure you rely on others for emotional support, if and whenever there is an urge to worry, feelings of helplessness and emotional distance- connect with people you can confide in and who will understand you. When you share your concerns with others, conversations and empathetic bonds help in understanding yourself and your emotions.
Additionally, we would encourage you to please reach out to professional mental health practitioners from organisations or independent set ups for the same if you need emotional support!
