Any change in our life can cause stress. Usually after sometime our rational brain rationalises. E.g.. It tells us that developing a scar or vitiligo does not change us as a person. Many people may have such a problem.
Sometimes when it sees only the negatives we have to retrain it to think positively through CBT.
Or medication which restores the balance and controls the negative thinking part of the brain.
