Yes.its necessary.every wires have capacity to do limit changes.so accordingly doctor keeps checking and changing the wires. If you missed your appointment,then you are increasing your treatment time.and only you will be responsible for that.

This if done too fast will cause damage to the tooth and the bone and if done too slow i.e. too much gap between appointment there will be no movement after a point and will be a waste of your time and prolong the amount of time u will have to wear braces for.
