Dark pigmentation below my cheek bones

Lately, I've observed dark pigmentation under my cheek bones. It's basically like contouring, but natural, and I am not sure if it is good or bad, but it is evidently visible on my cheeks (a few people pointed that asking what is that brown thingy on your face!) and I am scared why has it happened!? Help me understand what that is!! Thank you.
