Cystoid macula
Retinal swelling in right eye and one stage previous to iniatiation of the formation of new blood vessels in left eye. Patient is diabetic for over 5 years now. However is on medication and been given the injections of avastin on an alternate day basis. Please suggest anything that does not have any side effects and if there is a permanent solution to this, it will be greatly accepted.
The systemic control of Diabetes is very important.Any other disease like hypertension and Kidney disease increases the recurrence of macular edema.
Intravitreal injections are the preferred mode of treatment in cystoid macular edema.
Can try other Intravitreal injections like Lucentis and Eylea if not responding to previous treatment.
Next Steps
Should get an Fundus Angiography done to role out ischaemic Maculopathy (Contraindication for intravitreal injection ) and to look for any leakages from vessels.

Blood sugar levels should not fluctuate widely specially immediately before and after intravitreal injections
