Crack tooth help please
I don't have pain on this tooth. Lower first molar. I have lower jaw pain and ear pain with Swelling in the jaw. Dentist said I might have a minor crack and that is causing these symptoms. So, I don't know how to proceed further without definite answer. He want me to do RCT for it.
Does crack tooth cause pain in the lower jaw under the ear lobe? I have pain in the same spot for last 3 months and it hurts to touch. Under the ear lobe hurts to touch and side of the neck is swollen too. I have a small lump on the side of the neck too. The neck pain started after a month of jaw pain.
I do hear popping and clicking sound in the jaw. I have sore pain on top side of the head above the ear.
Does crack tooth cause these symptoms ? What could be the issue? Do I need RCT? I don't have any pain on that tooth. No cold and heat sensitivity while eating at home.
dentist did cold spray and bite test. he said to do RCT. felt sensitive to bite on one spot.after cold spray,sore for 20seconds.
Based on your history, it can be TMJ or joint pain. It can be due to sudden force on the joint or other reasons. In the X-ray I was not able to find your third molar. Did you get a third molar recently removed. I was also able to see a root piece like structure in the 3rd molar region.
Pain may be due to infection from residual root piece of 3rd molar or sudden force during removal of third molar removal. Even clicking sounds and pain in front of ear signifies a TMJ problem.
Reason may also be a recently improperly done filling or crown. Your case need to be properly evaluated by a dentist

Use a course of antibiotics to rule out infection. Use muscle relaxant to relieve TMJ pain. Restrict urself to soft food for few weeks. If TMJ problem is diagnosed once pain comes down you need to do excercises to strengthen the joint
