Cough problems

Hi doctor, I am facing some problems with my throat, actually I have cough problems which last throughout the year even if I laugh a lot I had to go through continuous coughing and when I get sick it gets severe that I get a sore throat can you please suggest me some homemade solutions which I can follow for a longer time and don't have to take a lots of medicines. Even my father and brother face such problems.
