Cough, fever and body ache

Hello doctor, My MIL is suffering from body ache, dry cough, and fever from over 24 hrs. Her symptoms look like common cold/ COVID god forbid but she says it's typhoid, although no loose motions and vomiting. My 5 yr old has respiratory infection and he's on medication from 4-5 days as well. What could be the case Doctor!
