The incubation period is usually 4-5 days.In the majority & signs, followed by
mild fever, sore throat and malalaise.In the remainder there is a sudden onset with chill & marked fever with corresponding pulsr rate,pharyngitis, cough, & myalgia.On examination there will be few abnormal signs except an inflamed pharynnx & some cervical adenopathy.
A specific diagnosis can be made only by isolation of the virus, bacterium, or mycoplasma from the respiratory tract & preferably also by the demonstration of a rise in homoeo medicine to the virus or other organism in the blood convalescence.

In other children & adults most of these illnesses are relatively mind and no treatment is neccessary other than mild analgesics and gargles to relieve
