Convulsions fever
My Son is 2years 4months old. Last week He has suffered from convulsion fever. We have admitted him to nursing home. One week he was fine. But today also normal fever comes. After given him the proper medication he is fine now.
But after consultation with another Dr. he has suggested we have to take precautions upto 5years.When ever fever comes we have to give him Midacip nasal spray three times. Need your suggestion . Also, For your information right now he is under medications of paracetamol 125,clavam bid, polybion L, Cos opinion. Also total blood count as per today's blood report is 12985.Need assistance. Stool and urine reports are normal.
Your child probably having febrile seizures. That means whenever fever comes he may get convulsions if fever shoots up high. This will be there till 5 to 6 years of age and later it won't continue. Till then you have to give febrile seizures prophylaxis. That is
1. Paracetamol round the clock
2. Meftal p or Ibugesic for high fever
3. Frisium Tablet for 2 days.(prevent seizures)
4. Midacip is an anti convulsant , should be used only if convulsions are there to stop the same.
Till 5 years whenever fever comes you should give above medications for initial two days.
