Consultation regarding Umbilical Hernia
My Aunt has a complain of swelling in the umbilicus and last wednesday she had a scan on it and the scan reports revealed that she has umbilical hernia of size 13mm and contents omentum and fat as mentioned by them. Any medical treatment for it?
Hi hernia is a defect in abdominal wall and through this defect part of bowel / fat ( Omentum) cam come out which leads to pain , and can lead to bowel obstruction any time leading to death of part of bowel leading to emergency surgery.
Kindly go ahead with laparoscopic repair which is safe and standard of care at present.
