Hi dear I appreciate your interest in the field of psychology. Soon after your 10th, you can opt for psychology subject either in arts field or in science based on your further interest in it. As you complete your degree (3 yrs) and masters (2yrs) in it, you can pursue this in various fields like counseling, clinical or other areas of expertise or you can go into research by taking PhD and doing fellowship in it. Soon after your masters you can take NET exam, for research fellowship. Other way is: if you are interested in medicine you can do specialization(MD) in psychiatry, i.e, after MBBS. But if you opt for counseling there are also various fields to specialize in it. Before entering anything try to know what it is?, whether it suits your interests or goal. Hi there, You need to choose psychology in your 11th standard as one of your subject from which ever stream you choose in order to get admission in bachelor's. From now on it will take approximately 8-9years for you to become a licensed clinical psychologist after completing MPhil (RCI registered). In case you find interest in research you may pursue PhD and do researches as well as professorship.
