Needed further details like when child is having significant cough day/night,is it dry/wet cough,of it is only throat infection then it should be dry cough ,the cough should subside once infection is reduced,for discomfort of cough syrup with dexomethophran can be tried,Luke warm water with honey can tried as local remedy
