Congenital Glaucoma
My daughter 10yrs old has congenital glaucoma(Peter's Anamoly). Operated once for glaucoma in both the eyes & twice for cornea transplantation in the left eye in her infancy period. She has very low vision, only perceptions.
Finally concluded there has no any improvement can be achieved and has to be on medication for the lifetime.
And till today form her birth she is on Combigan eye drops and from last month only we changed it to Bidin T( both having same formula).
Want to know about the advanced and improved technology in the medical science in the diagnosis of congenital glaucoma.

Let me answer you point wise
1. Brimonidine (present in combigan and bidin) is contraindicated in Pediatric age as it causes Central nervous system depression. Better to avoid. Prostaglandin analogue like latanoprost would be a better option with timolol (present in bidin-T).
2. It would be difficult to comment on visual prognosis without seeing the reports or examining the patient.
3. Diagnosis of congenital Glaucoma is not difficult. Complicated glaucomas can also be managed with Glaucoma drainage implants.
