My son is 3 months now..is it right to treat him for congenital cataract..? He has this condition with his left eye only.

Yes, unilateral cataract in a small child should be operated at earliest possible. You should leave the decision to the treating surgeon because he/ she will decide if the cataract is in centre and would be a cause for amblyopia.
