So my mother has been taking olanzapine 2.5mg since the last 7 months for her depression treatment. Our psychiatrist will most probably tell her to take it for 4 to 5 more months. But I'm really worried about the withdrawal symptoms when she starts to get off the medicine, since it has been so many months she's taking it.

It can be tapered and omitted safely. Provided that depression was the only indication. If it was added for some underlying/associated psychotic symptoms then it may need to be continued for some more time. It’s up to the discretion of the psychiatrist.
