Hi Sometimes mild cold in a active child does not need any medications. If there is nasal stuffiness due to cold, u can use saline nasal drops one drop in each nostrils to relieve it. Other wise nothing to worry.
Next Steps
If child is less active and has increase work of breathing then u should be cautious.
Health Tips
To take plenty of oral Liquids

Hello, I understand your concern Most colds are viral and resolve in 5–7 days without antibiotics. Running nose is protective – helps clear infection. Do not try to suppress it aggressively. Ensure: Plenty of fluids, Continue regular feeding, Maintain nasal hygiene
Next Steps
Use normal saline nasal drops (2–3 drops per nostril) 4–6 times/day - Helps in decongestion and easier breathing, especially before feeds and sleep. Antihistamine (if needed): For persistent clear discharge or disturbed sleep: Levocetirizine (e.g., Levolin M, Teczine) For 8.8 kg: ~1 mL of Levocetirizine 2.5 mg/5 mL once at night No antibiotics unless signs of secondary infection (fever >3 days, purulent nasal discharge, ear pain). Avoid OTC cough/cold syrups with multiple combinations in under-2 children due to side effects and limited benefit.
Health Tips
Red flags: High fever >3 days Refusal to feed Difficulty breathing Ear pulling or irritability Rash or lethargy
