Clonazepam can cause forgetfulness?

When I was taking clonazepam I was forgetting everything Was clonazepam reason for forgetfulness? I am going to meet doctor to discuss and any suggestion which is better for sleep and not make forgetfulness?

Definitely clonazepam can cause memory impairment, both immediately and more so after long term use. It is definitely not supposed to be taken on a longer run. Consult a psychiatrist for remedy.

Clonazepam does not cause forgetfulness but yes it can cause lack of focus which can cause memory issues or retrieval of memories there are other safer medications like zolpidem which can be helpful in the short term for sleep
