Clarithromycin effect on kidney
Hi,
My father is having hypertension and chronic kidney disease and taking medicine for the same.
However in last week he diagnosed with chest infection and having weakness.
Our general physician prescribe clarithromycin 250 twice a day.. But from last 2 day he is feeling difficulties in passing urine.
So is that effect of antibiotics clarithromycin or any other drug prescribed. Is clarithromycin causes bad effect on kidney
Tab clarithromycin needs dose adjustment based on patients creatinine level.
But it's side effect doesn't include difficulties on passing urine. However do check about the quantity of urine passed and any recent unexpected decrease in urine output.
