What is significance of total cholesterol in blood? My total blood cholesterol is 188, and ref range in report is 110–230? I have no idea about HDL, LDL,triglycerides. Is it normal?

Total cholesterol levels is not significant. And no need to worry now. LDL and triglyceride levels are always significant.
Next Steps
if your l LDL is more than 200, triglyceride more than 150, that will endanger your blood vessels, heart, nervous system. HDL should be normal or high.
