The most common cause for the same is a chronic sprain in the trapezius muscle and paraspinal muscles leading to a fibro-fascitis like picture. You need to lifestyle modifications consisting of correct posture, breaks from the long duration of work, exercises twice or thrice a day and electrotherapy sessions along with some medications. Medications include muscle relaxants and analgesics with shoulder and scapular stabilisation exercises. This has to be assisted with hot water fomentation and electrotherapy in for of ultrasonics or IFT. Please visit your orthopedic and physiotherapist for same.
