Child not speaking

2020-11-28 18:19:38
Our kid is 3Y6M old but has not started speaking yet, he only says "mama" "dada" "nana" and few 4-5words, that too when he is crying or playing (depends on his mood) otherwise he wont speak a word. Paediatrician says its normal as some kids take time to speak but we are worried because the kid sometimes gets annoyed as he is not able to speak and make other person understand what he wants. Should we consult some specialist regarding this or we should wait for more time. Whom can we consult. Thanks

You should not wait . He needs detailed developmental asssesment by an expert who will decide the cause of delay in speech weather it is selective speech delay or is it part of global delay .there are many causes for delay which should be detected and treated early . Hearing also needs assessment by audiometery . Please consult.
