Chest Injury

I have suffered from chest injury 4 months ago.While I don't have any broken ribs visible on x ray, I think I might have bruised it and damaged some soft tissue on top of it.While bruise has almost faded in one month, and pain subsided but the area is still tender so I face sometimes issue if I sleep that side or if I stretch my chest upwards to increase blood flow, my back side and other parts started aching.So, I should give rest for few more months to start extensive excercise.Orthopaedic doctor said muscle will take longer to heal.My chest has 2mm wide and 3 inch long tight spot on top of ribs and that tight spot is causing pain if I stretch and that tight spot is tender and my chest is sore till 4 inches.I have not done CT scan or MRI as x ray is normal and even any issue comes in MRI , doctor will say take rest only.Also pain during injury was also minor only so I don't think if it was big injury.

Apply cold pack to the area if there is any residual bruising or swelling. If its too painful to stretch. Then try bandaging it through elastic bandage. It will give extra support and will promote better recovery. To understand how to wrap. Search for Basic wraps for rib injuries.
