Hi, you have mentioned that this change has happened in the last year. Please check whether any specific changes have happened in the last year, change of school, home or any new development which she is not comfortable with. In case you find nothing it is still possible that something is troubling your child. Sometimes , childhood Depression may present with irritability , defiance of authority and falling grades. Please consult a Psychiatrist. Once a diagnosis is there, a treatment plan can be worked out. Both she and you as parents can benefit from counseling too. Hope this helps, All the Best!

Most of children's behaviour stems from observation to closed family members and now a day's also from television and Internet, please introspect whether this are the reasons for it, consult a child psychiatrist to rule out any other psychological problems, don't be impatient and expect quick results, consistent follow up with one doctor will help
