Cervix is 2.8 cm in 12th week scanning
Hi,
I have done my scanning at 12th week.My cervix measure 2.8 cm in scanning report hence my doctor is asking to go for cervical stciching I am very scared.i have to admit in hospital for 2 days and get it done n have to take bed rest for few days after that.could you please let me know what is the normal cervix at 12 weeks would this really needed?

As its very early that your cervix length is only 2.8cm.. Hence for cervix become more short and lead to mid trimester abortion.. So better to have stitch.. Anyways bed rest will be needed for a week and restricted travelling and heavy work for rest of pregnancy... If you are anxious, you can repeat ultrasound from one more radiologist.. Trans vaginal scan will help to mark precise length of cervix
