Cataract surgery

My father is going to have is next cataract surgery for left eye is on day after tomorrow, today doctor has advised me to place toric lens, his diaptore is 1.5 something, I don't know much about this, and his right eye is having monofocal lens my question is that can I place monofocal lens in the next eye too or I have to opt toric lens. I have financial issue thats y i m asking, can later with specs it's can be corrected father age 74

Ya it can be corrected with spectacles later on . You can go ahead with monofocal lens
