Cardiac evaluation

Last year, I had an angio done, which was completely normal- my Dog told me that I did not worry about anything for the next five years and whatever I get are not heart related A year later, I have started getting heaviness, tightness in my chest, neck, throat, etc - ECG and cardiac enzymes. All good. The cardio said that no need of any testing and I should get physiotherapy or relax my muscle. But I asked on some forum, and I also chatted with Doctor on practo- they all advised that should get a fresh TMT, echo done or stress echo- I was wondering, why do I need these cardiac tests done again ?? is this extra cautious approach

1 year is long enough for things to change. Even if few blocks have developed but is in one or more major blood vessels, it can cause problem. Get TMT  and stress echo done to have a clear picture.

A normal angiogram a year ago is strong reassurance - fresh blockage in 12 months in a 26-year-old is very unlikely, and your ECG and enzymes during symptoms were normal. Your cardiologist is right, more tests will most likely be normal too. Chest, neck and throat tightness like this usually comes from chest wall/muscle spasm, acid reflux or anxiety-driven hyperventilation. TMT or stress echo makes sense only if symptoms come on with exertion and settle with rest.
Next Steps
Skip repeat angio; a single 2D echo plus a trial of anti-reflux treatment and chest wall physiotherapy is enough, and note whether the tightness is triggered by walking upstairs or by stress. Sudden crushing pain with sweating or breathlessness means go to casualty at once. Bring your old reports to a consult with me on Practo and I will tell you what actually needs testing.

If the resting ECG and echo are normal, you don't need any further tests at this time,in view of the previous normal coronary angiography and your age

With a normal angiogram, ECG and cardiac enzymes, repeating TMT and echo is not necessary testing depends on your symptoms and risk factors, so a cardiology review can decide whether any repeat test would actually add value.
