Can thalassemia major show at 6

Can thalassemia major show up at the age of 6? My daughter is 6.5 year old. Weight is 19.5. height is 3 feet 7 inches. Had chronic constipation and pain while passing urine. In USG scan today she was diagnosed with a 5 mm gallstone. I'm worried that gallstones at the age of 6 may indicate some underlying problem like a blood disorder. Her mother(my wife) is a thalassemia minor. I don't have any thalassemia traits. Can my daughter be thalassemia major?

Thalassemia major presents in first year of life and requires frequent blood transfusion. Very unlikely the child is thalassemia major. However Thalassemia intermedia may require blood transfusion once a while. Thalassemia minor may remain undiagnosed throughout the life until tested.
