Sensodyne is a desensitizing toothpaste and it is meant to reduce the sensations felt by the teeth.
It has no role whatsoever to reduce the sensations felt by the soft tissues like the gums and the other areas of oral mucosa.
Going by the verbal description that you have mentioned and without having a look at the clinical picture, the only prudent suggestion we can provide you right now is to use anaesthetic ointments like dologel CT for local application on those areas for temporary symptomatic relief.
Another possibility is this being a localised fungal infection called as Candidiasis but without a proper clinical checkup and a few lab tests it would not be correct to advise antifungal therapy as of now.
Alternatively you can post a good quality clinical photograph on Practo for an online consultation with a specialist.
Regards.
