I felt a little bug fly in my ear. I read on different hospital / Health websites that putting a little oil in your ear could help kill the bug so I put a little vegetable oil in my ear but realize it was stupid.  now I am so scared. Was this dangerous? I made an appt 4 a doctor near me to check my ear tomorrow morning but I'm so scared. What's going to happen? can this cause meningitis? I'm terrified.   It was a little plastic spoon sized.

Hi , nothing to worry , usually oil will help to kill the bug so that your membrane should not get injured by the bug until and unless bug injured the membrane and other area not to expect the complication like mengitis.. anyways you booked the appt they will remove the bug and let you know the status of your ear
