Brown spots in the underarms

A month ago I spotted 1-2 brown spots in my underarms...they were causing no issues...no itching or irritation of any kind...now it has increased to 3-4 and that has got me worried...I want to know the cases and prevention for this...even for my dad it started like this and ended up spreading to the whole underarms...please help!!
