Hi. I would like to know more about your daughter.
Is she preterm? How many weeks ?
What was her birth weight?
Did she cry immediately after birth?
Was she on ventilator or ICU? How long?
Did she receive surfactant?
How is her nutritional status and weight gain?
Any feeding problems?
When was she discharged?
What was her previous oxygen requirements?
She needs 0.5 liters per minute which is minimal support. Hopefully she will improve further. But needs close follow up
Due to better understanding of the disease and availability of surfactant, infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia appear to have milder disease today than in years past.
Next Steps
Please consult a pediatrician or pediatric Pulmonologist for follow up. Thank you
