My 18months old son have a blood test and its report show microcytic hypochromic smears what does it mean

Microcytic hypochromic anemia can be seen in many conditions, most common of which is iron deficiency but also seen in thallasemia, lead poisoning, sideroblastic anemia. You have to consult your doctor to diagnose the probable cause
