Blood in saliva with sore throat

2022-12-20 19:25:02
1 day back I drank and smoked very heavily that I vomitted in very rough manner. Again smoked and drank alcohol same night. Today I have sore throat and since evening if I clear throat to spit, in the saliva there is small traces of blood. Blood is not coming everytime, it only comes when I clear throat and try to pull it all from throat. Does it indicate a serious condition? Or it is just the sore throat or the capillaries got injured due to previous night? I am scared if it leads to serious condition like cancer of throat ?!

When you vomit, the acid from your stomach erodes the mucous lining of your esophagus and throat. That combined with smoking and alcohol abuse can result in a condition called Mallory Weiss Syndrome. If you are located in Bangalore, please come down to my clinic for a proper ENT clinical assessment. If you ignore these symptoms, it could result in massive haemoptysis which could practically choke you to death!
