It’s possible that you have a deviated nasal septum which causes excessive crusting due to more exposure to cold dry air, resulting in Nasal Obstruction. You can start Saline nasal drops to prevent the crusting( Nasoclear nasal drops) for now. Consult ENT physically for need of correction of DNS of present.

It's because when we inhale cold air, it needs to be heated and humidified before it enters the lungs.
